The AWS study, which surveyed 415 senior IT decision-makers across sectors such as financial services, ICT, manufacturing, and retail, also found that 83% of Indian firms have appointed Chief AI Officers to drive generative AI (Gen AI) initiatives, with another 15% planning to do so by 2026.
Generative AI investment is set to be a priority for 64% of Indian companies in 2025, as per the study.
India is witnessing widespread Gen AI deployment, with 43% of organisations having fully integrated Gen AI into their workflows.
Almost all companies (98%) are using Gen AI tools, and 95% are experimenting with new use cases. Nearly half (49%) expect these experiments to move into production by next year.
To support this rapid adoption, AWS has launched a $100 million Generative AI Innovation Centre offering workshops and expert consultations.
This initiative also includes the AWS Skill Builder platform, which provides over 80 free courses on generative AI to help upskill the workforce.
