LinkedIn News, citing McKinsey’s hiring report, said the consulting giant has emerged as the leading recruiter from the Indian School of Business and IIM-Ahmedabad. Both schools also made it to LinkedIn’s Global Top 100 MBA Programmes for 2025 — with ISB at fifth place and IIM-Ahmedabad at 17th.
Full placement was reported at IIM-Ahmedabad, IIM-Bangalore, IIM-Calcutta, and ISB in the last academic year, according to a Business Today report. The demand for graduates from these campuses remains steady despite global hiring challenges.
Recruiters are not just chasing credentials — they want graduates who can solve problems analytically, communicate clearly, and work well in teams. BCG’s Saurabh Chhajer added that adaptability, comfort with technology, and curiosity to keep learning are traits that now stand out in hiring.
Among the big salary numbers, IIM-Bangalore stood out with the highest average package at ₹35.92 lakh per annum in the last academic cycle, according to Business Today.
Applications to top B-schools are rising from mid-career professionals too. A Times of India report point to a desire to strengthen strategic thinking and keep pace with rapid shifts in technology. As LinkedIn Top Voice Navveen Balani explained, work experience adds depth in the classroom while fresh perspectives and analytical skills keep discussions dynamic.
