
Pollsters have predicted a clean sweep by the ruling NDA alliance in the Bihar Assembly elections. Exit poll projections by People’s Insight indicate a clear edge for the ruling BJP and JD(U)-led NDA alliance over the Opposition Mahagathbandhan alliance, led by the RJD and the Congress.
According to People’s Insight, the NDA alliance is expected to secure 133-148 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan is projected to win 87-102 seats. Election strategist Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party is projected to get only 0-2 seats.

The high-stakes electoral battle in the state came to an end with the second phase of voting on Tuesday, November 11. Bihar witnessed a direct fight between the ruling NDA alliance and the Opposition alliance, Mahagathbandhan.
Exit poll predictions are based on the responses from voters immediately after they cast their votes. The exit poll projections only try to indicate which political alliance may have an edge in Bihar. The real poll outcomes after counting of votes on November 14 could be completely different from these predictions.
Polling in the second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections concluded on Tuesday, November 11.
Bihar recorded a historic voter turnout of nearly 69% in the second and final phase of the assembly elections.
According to Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, the provisional turnout stood at 68.79% in this phase. Overall, the two phases together saw a turnout of 66.9%, about 9.6 percentage points higher than the previous assembly elections.
As many as 3.7 crore voters exercised their right to franchise to elect candidates for 122 constituencies across 20 districts in the second phase.
Bihar recorded more than 65% voter turnout during the first phase of voting on November 6. Out of the total 243 seats, 121 constituencies across 18 districts went into polls in the first phase.
2020 Bihar elections
In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections BJP won 74 seats, while the JD(U) secured 43 seats. The RJD emerged as the largest party with 75 seats, while the Congress managed to secure 19 seats.
