The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2025 on March 6, 2026.
Among the new entrants in the 2026 civil services stream is Rupal Jaiswal of Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. She has emerged as one of the standout performers, securing 43rd rank nationally. Her backstory is one of single-minded, never-say-never determination.
From an early age, Rupal had aspired to become a district collector. Although she initially pursued a degree in law and began her career along that path, she veered from the formulaic path and chose to dive into uncertain territory.
According to a media report, during her fourth year in college, Rupal got a job offer with an annual salary of around ₹22 lakh, which she took up. Subsequently, she quit, realising that balancing a demanding job with UPSC preparation was not feasible. She chose to focus full-time on studies.
It paid off, but it was a long and winding road.
Her first attempt at the examination ended in disappointment. Undeterred, she analysed her mistakes and tried a second time, this time ranking 512th. Although it was a respectable result, it still fell short of her ambition of becoming a district collector.
She appeared for the examination a third time, this time standing an impressive 43rd rank nationwide. Rupal is now very close to realising her dream of entering the prestigious Indian Administrative Service.
Relatives and friends credit her discipline and tireless preparation, saying her journey demonstrates how clarity of purpose can lead to success despite obstacles.
The Union Public Service Commission’s final list for the 2025 Civil Services Examination shows that 958 aspirants have been selected this year. Of these, 317 belong to the general category and 306 to the OBC category.
The top position in the examination was secured by Anuj Agnihotri from Kota, Rajasthan. Rajeshwari Suve from Tamil Nadu came second, followed by Akansh Dhull of Chandigarh in third place. Raghav Jhunjhunwala of West Bengal/Delhi ranked fourth, while Madhya Pradesh’s Ishan Bhatnagar secured the fifth position.
