— National Testing Agency (@NTA_Exams) February 11, 2026
Once published, candidates will be able to check results and cut-off details on the official portals – nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in
. No reason for the change was stated in the brief update.
The update came after the objection window for the provisional answer key closed on February 6. Challenges submitted by students are under review. Only after that process wraps up will the final answer key be issued. Scores are calculated on that version, not the provisional one.
JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exam dates and shifts
Session 1 of JEE Main 2026 was conducted in computer-based mode from January 21 to January 29. Two shifts ran daily – morning (9 am to 12 pm) and afternoon (3 pm to 6 pm).
For the BE and BTech papers, tests were held between January 21 and January 28.
Feedback from students and subject experts described the papers as moderately difficult overall – though the level varied across shifts and sections, per reports.
2025 context
In 2025, the January session results were announced on February 11, and the NTA dropped 12 questions from the final answer key before releasing scores.
Use of JEE Main 2026 scores
JEE Main scores are used for admission to undergraduate programmes such as BE/BTech, BArch, and BPlanning at participating institutions. These include centrally funded technical institutions and other recognised colleges.
In addition, central and state government entities may use JEE Main 2026 scores for their own admissions, subject to their individual rules and eligibility criteria.
No re-checking, strict UFM rules
There will be no re-evaluation or re-checking of results. The agency has made that position clear.
Results will not be declared for candidates found using unfair means. Those who appeared from an unauthorised centre, allowed someone else to sit the exam on their behalf, or attempted the same session more than once will have their candidature cancelled and may be debarred under UFM guidelines.
Attention now turns to February 16. Candidates are advised to monitor the official portals for updates.
