Shivakumar refused to reveal the names of leaders he would be meeting during his Delhi visit.
“I cannot disclose the names of all the people I will be meeting. Why are you so curious? I am not just the Deputy CM but also the Congress state president. I will complete six years as the KPCC President on March 10 and it is my duty to meet party MPs and party leaders,” Shivakumar said.
Backing Shivakumar for the CM post, Congress MLA Iqbal Hussain said Shivakumar should be given a chance in this tenure itself.
Hussain said, “We all have in our hearts that DK Shivakumar be given a chance. Everyone is wishing for it, but we shouldn’t create any confusion by statements that’s why everyone is quiet, and some are speaking between them. I’m clearly saying with an open heart, as I said from the first day that DK Shivakumar must be given a chance in this tenure itself, this is my wish.”
Congress MLC Channaraj Hattiholi said Shivakumar enjoyed the support of 136 MLAs, and he deserved to be the chief minister of the state.
Hattiholi said, “DK Shivakumar has made it very clear that all 136 MLAs are in his support. He has been running the party successfully for the past six years. All MLAs are happy with him. We are all in support of DK Shivakumar. He deserves to be the chief minister of this state, and we all hope that he will be CM of Karnataka very soon, in this tenure.”
His visit comes amidst the leadership tussle involving him and Siddaramaiah re-surfacing.
