During the New York Times DealBook Summit, he was seen as hyperactive and appeared to have difficulty sitting still during the discussion.
Dr Karp said he decided to launch the fellowship to support people whose cognitive styles do not fit conventional norms. He encouraged those who relate to his fast, restless thinking pattern to apply for the program.
“While cross-country skiing this morning, Dr Karp decided to launch a new program: The Neurodivergent Fellowship. If you find yourself relating to him in this video — unable to sit still, or thinking faster than you can speak — we encourage you to apply,” Palantir wrote on X.

According to the company, the final round of interviews will be conducted by Dr Karp himself.
Palantir, in its application post, states that neurodivergent people, those who think differently, like those with fast-moving minds, hyperfocus, non-linear thinking, or strong pattern recognition, will have a big role in the future, especially with AI becoming more important.
“The current LLM tech landscape positions them to dominate. Pattern recognition. Non-linear thinking. Hyperfocus. The cognitive traits that make the Neurodivergent different are precisely what make them exceptional in an AI-driven world,” the application read.
So, Palantir is starting a Neurodivergent Fellowship, which is basically a new hiring pathway to bring such people into the company.
Who can apply?
“This program is designed for those who think differently, and that’s the point. Whether you’re self-taught, formally educated, or somewhere in between, we’re looking for builders who can see patterns others miss and solutions others overlook,” the company wrote in its application.
What will be the role?
Selected candidates will join Palantir as full-time employees who will help in building software, deploying AI solutions, delivering customer outcomes and working on real operational and technological problems.
These candidates will be held to the same performance standards as Palantir engineers and the career growth will be based on merit and impact and not behaviour traits. “We move fast. We expect excellence. We don’t require you to sit still,” it read.
Eligibility
“We want excellent people from any background (no formal diagnosis or disclosure required),” the application read. Since the job is based in New York and Washington, D.C., applicants must have eligibility to work in the United States.
Salary
The estimated salary range for the role is $110,000 to $200,000 per year (approx. ₹ 99 lakh to ₹ 1.80 crore) for the New York and Washington, D.C. offices.
Total compensation may also include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), a sign-on bonus, and other future incentives, while the final pay will depend on a candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and other factors.
