Alkyl Amines Chemicals Ltd on Monday (March 16) said it has temporarily suspended the manufacturing of methylamines, ethylamines, and their derivatives at its Patalganga, Kurkumbh, and Dahej facilities due to the non-availability of ammonia, a key raw material, following disruptions in global supply chains caused by the ongoing geopolitical conflict in West Asia.
The company said the conflict has disrupted logistics networks and international crude oil and petrochemicals supply chains, affecting the availability of liquefied natural gas (LNG), a critical input for ammonia production. “We wish to inform you that the ongoing geopolitical conflict in the Middle East has led to disruptions in logistics networks and international crude oil and petrochemicals supply chains,” it said.
It added that the situation has forced several ammonia manufacturers to invoke force majeure, making them unable to supply the product. “Due to the non-availability of Ammonia, the Company has been constrained to temporarily suspend the manufacturing of said products at its Patalganga, Kurkumbh and Dahej sites,” the filing said.

Manufacturing of other products at these sites, where ammonia is not required, will continue. The financial and operational impact of this ongoing event cannot be estimated at this stage, and the company is exploring alternate ammonia sourcing arrangements.
“The likely financial and operational impact of Force Majeure, which is currently an ongoing event, cannot be estimated at this point in time. The company is closely monitoring the developments, exploring the alternate ammonia sourcing arrangements and will intimate the Stock Exchanges of any material updates in this regard,” it added.
