The song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from the film ‘KD: The Devil’ was removed from all the platforms after receiving a massive backlash on the internet. Several complaints were filed, and the Haryana and Karnataka states’ women’s commissions raised concerns; even the National Human Rights Commission issued a notice over the vulgar lyrics and visuals of the track of the Kannada movie. And now, singer Mangli has addressed the controversy, revealing that a new, corrected version will be out soon.
Singer Mangli apologizes for the ‘Sarke Chunar’ song
Singer Mangli took to her social media to apologize and express regret over the song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’. She shared, “Out of respect for public sentiment, the song has been removed from all platforms. I sincerely apologise to each and every one of you for the unintended mistake. It was never meant to hurt anyone’s sentiments, and we truly regret the oversight.”
Singer Mangli reveals a new corrected version will be released soon
In her post on social media, she added, “The corrected version of the lyrics has now been updated, and the revised version of the song will be released today evening. We assure you that such a situation will not arise again.”Mangli thanked the makers of the movie along with its composer for their support. She had turned off the comment section of her post.
Nora Fatehi addressed the ‘Sarke Chunar’ controversy
Nora Fatehi, who can be seen grooving to the tunes of the song along with Sanjay Dutt, shared a video to address the controversy. She expressed, “On a side note, I see some of you guys trying to use this as an opportunity to attack my character…it’s unfortunate. Anyways, me and my team will be more careful in the future in such situations. However, I do want to reiterate that I had no idea about this Hindi song. I did not perform to it and there was no permission taken to use it with my image.“She went on to add that she filmed for the song three years ago in Kannada. She said, “I shot this song three years ago in a language called Kannada. I said yes because it was part of a big film. It was with a big icon, Sanjay Dutt—who would say no to working with him?”Nora added, “Nothing seemed inappropriate or vulgar when they were translating the song to me. I don’t understand Kannada, so I was relying on what they told me.”
