Rahul was in Odisha shooting for his television show ‘Bhole Baba Paar Karega’ when the unfortunate incident occurred. As per his co-star Diganta Bagchi, after wrapping up the day’s shoot, Rahul entered the water alone but got caught in something beneath the surface. Moments later, the crew noticed he was drowning and rushed to help him. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. A West Bengal Police officer informed PTI that the actor was pronounced dead at Digha hospital after being brought in from a sea beach in neighboring Odisha. “We have contacted our counterparts in Odisha to ascertain the sequence of events. A case of unnatural death has been registered at Digha police station as well. We are also talking to his production team members and eyewitnesses,” the officer stated.
