Wipro Ltd on Wednesday, April 1, appointed Nagendra Bandaru as chief executive officer of its newly launched AI-native Business and Platforms Unit, effective immediately, as the company sharpens its focus on artificial intelligence-led growth.
The newly created unit will aim to accelerate enterprise-grade AI solutions and build AI-led business streams, complementing Wipro’s core services business and strengthening its positioning in a “services as software” environment.
Bandaru, a Wipro veteran with nearly three decades at the company, will continue to report to chief executive officer and managing director Srini Pallia and will remain part of the senior managerial personnel.
Kanwar Singh, a technology industry veteran with over 30 years of experience, will take over Bandaru’s current role as president and managing partner of Technology Services Global Business Lines, and will also be designated as senior managerial personnel. Singh has previously spent 19 years at Accenture, where he led large-scale technology transformation initiatives across the Americas.
The AI-native unit will consolidate Wipro’s platform and AI-driven businesses, including assets such as NetOxygen, CROAMIS, IHS and HPS healthcare platforms, Enterprise Telco AI, as well as delivery platforms like WINGS and WEGA. The company said the unit will focus on incubating new AI-led offerings, delivering outcome-based client value, and scaling integrated platforms and services.
