A favourable base and price hikes could boost the room airconditioners market, he said, adding that channel checks indicate 15–20% growth in secondary sales volumes, with primary sales likely to grow faster.

He added that demand trends can shift quickly with weather changes. “It just needs three to four days for the consumer to feel that heat, and it will be an impulse buy,” Gori said.
April trends remain mixed, with strong growth in southern markets offset by declines in the north and west, but improving temperatures are expected to support demand in the coming weeks.

Gori said pure-play cooling companies are better placed for seasonal demand, while diversified players offer a broader consumption play. “If you want to play the Indian home appliance story, LG is one of the best names to have in your portfolio,” he said.
He added that companies focused on cooling products may deliver higher growth rates compared to diversified appliance makers.
