The fraud was committed during the Congress regime in 2008-09. The investigation agencies believe that in this case some political people have misused their influence and power of position and have benefited an international dealer through some private people. A team of CBI has registered a case against Pilatus Aircraft Limited. This company is from Switzerland and a case has been registered against this Swiss company and many unknown people associated with the Indian Air Force and the Defence Ministry. The ED has also registered a case based on this case.
Allegation of connection with Sanjay Bhandari in a London property related to Robert Vadra
The ED has questioned Vadra several times in the case related to his London property. Although Vadra has not been named as an accused in this case, during the investigation it has been found that Bhandari has benefited several government officials and some people associated with political families by giving bribes worth crores of rupees in this case. Considering the seriousness of this matter, the connection of Bhandari with Vadra was investigated and a lot of evidence was collected.
During the earlier investigation in this case, some documents related to the London property were recovered, the connection between Bhandari and people working in Vadra’s company is a matter of investigation. The transaction of money remains the main issue of investigation for CBI and ED.
In this case, the ED team has questioned many accused, although the main accused Bhandari is absconding from the country but many cases against him are being investigated by the CBI and ED.
