
The recruitment process, covering 35 states and union territories, began with preliminary exams in February and March 2025, followed by main examinations in April. SBI described the evaluation process as rigorous and transparent.
In a statement, SBI Chairman CS Setty noted that the total recruitment across categories this year stands at approximately 18,000. “Out of these, around 13,500 are clerical roles, with the rest comprising probationary officers and local-based officers. We will continue to focus on skill development aligned with evolving functional and technological needs,” Setty said.

SBI, which currently employs over 2.36 lakh individuals, said the hiring initiative is part of its commitment to building future-ready talent and supporting operational efficiency across its network.
Shares of SBI closed at ₹814.95 on Tuesday, down 0.26% on the BSE.
