“Laws and regulations are only for those people who follow them. Those who take laws in their hands, then at times, it is needed to teach them in a language they understand,” Yogi said, speaking in an interview with ANI.

When asked about the Supreme Court’s directive on stopping the ‘bulldozer justice’, he said that within the ambit of the laws, people need to be taught a lesson.
“If someone gets violent and attacks us, then do we beg in front front of them? No. If the other person has become violent, then we have to reply as well, right?” he added.
Yogi’s statement came days after Supreme Court judge Justice Ujjal Bhuyan said demolishing the properties of people suspected of a crime is equivalent to running a bulldozer over the Constitution of India.
Akhilesh a follower of Aurangzeb, JinnahÂ
Yogi also attacked Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav, calling him as a follower and devotee of Aurangzeb and Babur. He said Yadav and his party workers have been glorifying the Mughal rulers. “Those who follow and idolise Aurangzeb and Babur, also have their qualities and become like them,” he told ANI.
He said these people are unaware of history. These people who follow Muhammad Ali Jinnah do not know the actual history of our country. He mentioned an instance when the BJP workers were joining with ‘Run for Unity’ programme to commemorate the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for his work towards unifying India.
“We were paying our tributes to Patel. On the other hand, these people were glorifying Jinnah. These are the breed of people who cannot be expected to have any knowledge and faith towards the actual leaders of India and its ancient fighters,” he said, further calling them as opportunist who may change their stance as per convenience.
Mahakumbh’s stampede tragedyÂ
The Chief Minister said a judicial commission is working towards collecting the facts of the tragedy as per the directives of the higher courts. “We had earlier proposed a month’s time for them but the High Court said it should be expanded. As per the directives, we will present the report with whatever findings will be noted,” he said.
At least 30 people were killed and 60 others injured in the stampede at the Sangam ghat on Mauni Amavasya, a key bathing day of the Maha Kumbh, on January 29.
When asked about West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s comments of calling it “Mrityu Kumbh”, he said the West Bengal government had become afraid after witnessing more than lakhs of devotees visiting from there daily. “The faith of the people visiting Prayagraj, made it as the ‘Mrityunjay Mahakumbh’, despite of all the negative statements against the Mahakumbh Mela,” he added.
Speaking on the initiatives that the government undertook for regulating the Mahakumbh festival, Yogi said, “We had installed CCTV cameras there. We conducted head counting using AI tools. We also made sure that no person is not counted twice in 24 hours. There was a system of face recognition and head counting. After every 24 hours, the final data was prepared.”
He stated that over 64.3 crore devotees took the holy dip in 45 days during the festival.
Achievements of Yogi government in eight years
“I think for any government in a democracy, the biggest achievement should be satisfaction of its people,” Yogi said, adding that under the vision of PM Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh has grown in the last eight years in different sectors such as infrastructure, investments, agriculture, and tourism among others.
When asked about whether people chose Yogi for second term because of his ‘Hindutva’ image and alignment, Yogi said that it is because of the blessings of the people that made sure a chief minister completes and works in his first term and then get re-elected for a second one. “This happened for the first time since independence,” he said.
“Any worker of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can become the chief minister for the third term in UP,” Yogi told ANI when asked whether he will be the BJP candidate in UP Elections 2027.
Waqf Amendment Bill will benefit Muslims and the countryÂ
On the Waqf Amendment Bill, the UP CM raised questions about the functioning of the Waqf Board.
“How much land will they acquire in disguise of Waqf? Have they done any welfare work in the name of Waqf? They have sold the Waqf properties for their personal benefit. It will cause all kinds of problems in the future. In the name of Waqf, they have made all kinds of wrong decisions. Who gave them the power to take over any property?” he stated.
Yogi added that there is nothing that BJP will get by capturing Masjids. “The Waqf Amendment Bill is going to benefit the country and the Muslims too,” he concluded.
Yogi calls Rahul ‘namoone’Â
Speaking about the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Yogi made remarks saying that figures like Gandhi are important for BJP in Indian politics. He termed Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Abhiyan’ as ‘Bharat Todo Abhiyan’.
“Bharat ki rajneeti mein BJP ke liye Rahul Gandhi jaise kuch namune zaroor rehne chahiye (For BJP’s dominance in Indian politics, people like Rahul Gandhi should be there.),” Yogi said.
“His ‘Bharat Jodo’ is a part of ‘Bharat Todo Abhiyan’. When he goes to the South, he criticises the North. When he goes to the North, he criticises the South. When he goes outside India, he will criticise India. The country has understood his conduct,” he added.
Languages join people, Tamil as old as SanskritÂ
When asked about the three-language controversy in the country, Yogi asked why is there a hatred towards Hindi, adding that languages do not breakup but join the people of the country.
“The country should not be divided in the name of the language or region. We are grateful to PM Modi, who organised the Kashi-Tamil Sangamam in Varanasi. In every Indian’s mind, there is a feeling of respect for Tamil, and its history is as old as Sanskrit,” he said.
“When these people’s vote banks shift, they try to divide on the basis of territory and language. The people of the country should always be aware of this,” Yogi remarked.
Muslims safest in Uttar Pradesh: Yogi
UP CM Adityanath said that Muslims are safest in the state of Uttar Pradesh, stating that there are no restrictions for a Muslim family to practice its religious beliefs in a society of Hindu families.
Yogi also said that Hindus living among Muslims are not safe. “A Muslim family living among 100 Hindu families is safe. It has the freedom to do all its religious deeds. But let alone one, even if 50 Hindu families live among 100 Muslim families, can they be safe? No. Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan are examples before you,” Yogi said.
“In Uttar Pradesh, Muslims are the safest. If Hindus are safe, then they are also safe. If there were riots here in UP before 2017, if Hindu shops were burning, Muslim shops were also burning. After 2017, the riots stopped,” he added.
