
FM Sitharaman to address Receipt Budget correction
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to make a statement concerning a “correction in receipt Budget 2025-26” that was originally presented alongside the Union Budget 2025-26 on February 1.
Additionally, she will introduce a Bill seeking authorisation for the payment and appropriation of certain sums from the Consolidated Fund of India for the financial year 2025-26. The FM will also move the passage of this Bill.

Voting on demands for grants scheduled
Around 6 pm, the House will vote on the Outstanding Demands for Grants for the Union Budget 2025.
Papers will be tabled by Union Ministers, including Arun Ram Meghwal, Prataprao Jadhav, Anupriya Patel, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Shantanu Thakur, Suresh Gopi, Ajay Tamtya, Sanjay Seth, Tokhan Sahu, and Murlidhar Mohol.
Standing Committee and Public Accounts reports
Reports from the Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology will be reviewed. Additionally, Ananta Nayak and Manna Lal Rawat will present the Fifth and Sixth Reports on Demands for Grants (2025-26) concerning the Ministry of Mines.
Jagdambika Pal and Dharmendra Yadav will present the Fifteenth Report on “Action Taken by the Government on the Observations/Recommendations of the Public Accounts Committee contained in their 122nd Report (Seventeenth Lok Sabha) on Audit of Pay and Allowances in Police Department, UT, Chandigarh,” the agenda stated.

Furthermore, the Sixteenth Report on “Action taken by the Government on the Observations/Recommendations of the Public Accounts Committee contained in their 133rd report on Short Closure of Electrification Works due to incomplete Pre-Requisite Works: South East Central Railway” will also be tabled.
Business Advisory Committee Report, weekly agenda
Union Minister Arun Ram Meghwal will outline the government’s legislative agenda for the week beginning March 24.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi will move a motion stating, “That this House do agree with the Eighth Report of the Business Advisory Committee presented to the House on March 19.”
Further deliberations and voting will be conducted on the Demands for Grants under the Ministry of Jal Shakti for 2025-26. Additionally, the House will consider cut motions, previously moved on March 18, and vote on the Demands for Grants for the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution for 2025-26.

BJP to follow the guillotining process to pass bills
On Thursday, March 20, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had issued a three-line whip to all its Lok Sabha members, directing them to be present in the Lower House on Friday for the passing of the Union Budget 2025-26.
In its notification, the party emphasised the significance of the session, stating, “All BJP members in Lok Sabha are hereby informed that guillotining of various demands for Grants 2025-26 will be taken up for passing in the House on Friday. All members of the BJP in Lok Sabha are, therefore, requested to be positively present in the House throughout the day and support the government’s stands.”
What is the guillotine process?
The guillotine procedure is a parliamentary mechanism used to fast-track the approval of financial proposals by ending debates and moving to a vote.
This approach is typically employed when the government aims to expedite legislative proceedings amidst Opposition resistance.
