In a series of posts on X, co-founder and ex-CEO of Mixpanel, Suhail Doshi, publicly warned fellow entrepreneurs about Parekh. Playground AI founder Doshi made the claim that Parekh worked at three to four firms simultaneously.
“PSA: there’s a guy named Soham Parekh (in India) who works at 3-4 startups at the same time. He’s been preying on YC companies and more. Beware. I fired this guy in his first week and told him to stop lying/scamming people. He hasn’t stopped a year later. No more excuses,” he wrote.
Sharing Parekh’s CV on X, he mentioned that probably 90% of the claims made in it are fake and ‘most links are gone.’ In a follow-up, he wrote, “I want to also say that I tried to talk sense into this guy, explain the impact, and give him a chance to turn a new leaf because sometimes that’s what a person needs. But it didn’t work.”

Who is Sohum Parekh?
Soham Parekh is an Indian software engineer who has allegedly been juggling jobs at several startups simultaneously without disclosure. The software engineer has been accused of deceiving employers by simultaneously working at multiple startups, sparking debates about remote work and hiring practices in the industry.
According to his CV posted by Doshi, Parekh holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mumbai with a GPA of 9.83/10. He also earned a master’s degree in Computer Science in 2022 from Georgia Tech. However, the authenticity of these claims is under scrutiny after allegations of fabricated details.
Additionally, his resume lists roles at multiple tech startups, many of them backed by Y Combinator. His résumé features stints, including:
Senior Software Engineer (Contract) at Dynamo AI (January 2024–present).
Senior Fullstack Engineer at Union.ai (January 2023–January 2024).
Senior Fullstack Engineer at Synthesia (December 2021–December 2022).
Founding Software Engineer at Alan AI (January 2021–December 2021).
Open Source Fellow at GitHub (May 2020–August 2020).
Other companies linked to Parekh include Antimetal, Fleet AI, and Mosaic. Several company owners, including Matthew Parkhurst (CEO of Antimetal) and Michelle Lim (Head of Product at Warp), confirmed recruiting Parekh, although his tenures were typically brief.
There are no confirmed images of Parekh in the public domain, but screenshots from Zoom calls have surfaced on social media. Replying to a user in the comment section, Suhail wrote, “He lies about his location. We thought we were hiring someone in the US. Even sent a laptop to a US address. Got it back! Allegedly, it was sent to his ‘sister’.”
Meanwhile, an X account with the name @realsohamparekh has emerged, claiming to be the real Soham Parekh. Reacting to the viral post, it mentioned, “There’s a lot being said about me right now, and most of you don’t know the full story. If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I love to build. That’s it. I’ve been isolated, written off, and shut out by nearly everyone I’ve known and every company I’ve worked at. But building is the only thing I’ve ever truly known, and it’s what I’ll keep doing.”

The post further mentioned that Parekh has signed an ‘exclusive founding deal’ to be the founding engineer at one company and one company only. “They were the only ones willing to bet on me at this time. The team is cracked, they back misfits, and they’re building something absolutely insane in the video AI space,” the post further reads.
