PM Modi stressed that teachers should go beyond just offering advice and actively acknowledge the unique strengths of each student. He added that comparisons among students could be detrimental to their confidence and self-esteem.
“Every child has a different talent. Instead of following societal trends, support your child in discovering their strengths,” he said. He urged educators to cultivate an atmosphere where students feel valued and encouraged to explore their abilities without the burden of unrealistic expectations.

Addressing parents, PM Modi highlighted the increasing pressure children face due to societal expectations. He noted that many parents, often influenced by external factors, unknowingly impose career and academic expectations on their children.
“Parents have expectations from their children because of social pressure,” PM Modi said. “I request all parents not to present their child as a model in front of everyone. They should accept the uniqueness of their child.” He encouraged parents to focus on their child’s individual skills rather than comparing them to others.
In response to a student’s question on whether they should listen to their parents or convince them to consider their perspective, PM Modi emphasised the importance of open communication. He acknowledged that while parents, with their experience, want the best for their children, it is equally important for students to express their aspirations clearly and respectfully.

He advised students to listen to their parents with an open mind while also presenting their viewpoints logically, backed by real examples. At the same time, he urged parents to be receptive to their children’s ambitions and not impose rigid career paths based on societal norms.
PM Modi also addressed the need for students to engage in extracurricular activities and hobbies. He urged parents to encourage their children to explore interests beyond academics, as this plays a crucial role in their overall development.
“Students are not robots. We study for our holistic development,” PM Modi said. “Students cannot grow if they are trapped in books. They need to do their favourite activities—only then can they perform well in exams.” He advised parents to provide children with the freedom to pursue their passions, as engaging in hobbies helps reduce stress and enhances creativity.
