“The goal of this exercise (Operation Sindoor) was to protect the image of the Prime Minister because of the blood of the Pahalgam terror victims he has on his hands,” Gandhi said in the Parliament.
Gandhi also stated that the government informed Pakistan minutes after Operation Sindoor as it did not have any political will to fight and destroy their military infrastructure.
“The Defence Minister said that at 1:35 am we called Pakistan and we told them that we have hit their non-military targets and we don’t want escalation, may be he doesn’t know what he revealed (he revealed that India did not have any political will to fight)… The DGMO of India was told by the government to ask for a ceasefire at 1:35 at night itself on the night of the Operation Sindoor,” Gandhi said.
“You told the Pakistani exactly what you would do. You told Pakistan about your political will that you don’t want to fight and will not attack the military establishments of Pakistan,” he added.
He also said that the whole country including the Opposition members stood together with the government during Operation Sindoor.

India conducted precision strikes on the terror base camps and sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the early hours of May 7 under Operation Sindoor to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack of April 26 where at least 26 people were gunned down by the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan responded to India’s strikes by using drones and missiles. The conflict escalated and continued till May 10, when the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan initiated a discussion for ceasefire with his Indian counterpart.
A ceasefire ‘understanding’ was reached to stop the firings across the Line of Control (LoC) and halt all military actions across the International Border between India and Pakistan.
