
The clarification comes after a 19-year-old youth, Deepak alias Deepu, claimed that an astronomical amount appeared in his late mother Gayatri Devi’s bank account. Gayatri Devi died two months ago, but her account was reportedly still being accessed by her son.
On the night of August 3, Deepak allegedly received a message indicating an unbelievable credit of ₹10,01,35,60,00,00,00,00,00,01,00,23,56,00,00,00,00,299. Shocked, he shared the message with his friends and asked them to count the zeros in disbelief.

In response to the viral reports, Kotak Mahindra Bank stated: “Media reports suggesting an unusually large balance in a customer’s account are incorrect. In light of these reports, we encourage customers to check their account details using Kotak’s mobile banking app or net banking platforms.”
The bank further confirmed that its systems are functioning normally, with all services secure and fully operational. Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd ended at ₹2,001.75, up by ₹4.80 or 0.24%, on the BSE today (August 5).
