Formally known as the Bihar Rural Livelihoods Project (BRLP), JEEViKA is a World Bank-supported initiative that supports rural institutions and self-help groups to empower the rural poor on a social and economic level.
It is an independent organisation under the Department of Rural Development, to empower the rural poor on both a social and economic level. Later, JEEViKA also incorporated the Livelihoods Restoration and Enhancement component of the Bihar Kosi Flood Recovery Project (BKFRP), as per the official website of BRLPS.

This hiring campaign is a calculated extension of JEEViKA’s reach, not just a job posting. Since its start, the program has rallied millions of rural households into self-help organisations, leveraging more than ₹35,000 crore from banks and unlocking close to ₹11,000 crore in internal reserves. More communities will have access to training, development resources, and means of subsistence if these positions are filled.
