Reliance Industries board approves appointment of Anant Ambani as executive director from May 1

The board of directors of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has approved the appointment of Anant M Ambani as the executive director of the company for five years, with effect from May 1, 2025.

Anant Ambani will be a whole-time director, designated as executive director.

He is currently a non-executive director of the company.
The board had approved the appointment of Anant Ambani along with his siblings Isha and Akash Ambani as non-executive directors of the company in August 2023 and the shareholders approved the appointment of the new generation leaders in October, 2023.

Anant graduated from Brown University. He is the first among the Ambani siblings to be appointed as an executive director at Reliance Industries Ltd.

Anant was appointed as the leader of the company’s energy vertical in August 2022. He has has also served on the boards of Jio Platforms Ltd from March 2020 and Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd from May 2022 and Reliance New Energy Ltd as well as Reliance New Solar Energy Ltd from June 2021. He has also been on the board of Reliance Foundation from September 2022.
