Step 1: Start clean
We start by washing our face with a gentle cleanser. This removes surface makeup, sunscreen, and pollution so our towel can work directly on our skin.
Step 2: Soak and steam
We take a clean, soft face towel (the fluffier, the better) and soak it in hot water. It should be hot enough to feel steamy but not so hot that it burns our skin. We wring out the excess and press it over our face for 1–2 minutes.
Pro tip: For extra spa vibes, we can add a drop of tea tree oil or lavender oil to the water before soaking our towel.
Step 3: Buff away the gunk
Once our skin feels warm and supple, we use the towel, still damp but not dripping, to gently buff our problem areas in small circular motions. We do not go overboard. Light pressure is enough.
The texture of the towel works like a mild exfoliator, lifting away softened blackheads and dead skin without ripping our face apart.
Step 4: Rinse and refresh
We splash our face with cool water to close the pores and lock in the smoothness.
Step 5: Moisturise like we mean it
We finish with a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturiser to keep our skin hydrated and balanced.
