
Churachandpur: Security forces launched twin operations in Manipur’s Churachandpur district amid rising tension, seizing a cache of arms and detaining three alleged cadres of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA), a non-Non-Suspension of Operations (SoO) outfit.In Molphei Tampak, a joint raid by district police and Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) recovered weapons, including an MP-9 automatic rifle, lethode tubes, a pistol with magazine, a locally made ‘pumpi’ cannon and cartridges. The arms have been handed over to Churachandpur Police Station for investigation.Simultaneously, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police and special forces conducted a combing operation in the Henglep subdivision. Locals reported helicopter-borne troops moving swiftly to suspected hideouts.
