
NEW DELHI: At least three people were killed and eight others injured after a speeding truck rammed into a bus in Maharashtra’s Ahilyanagar on Sunday, police said.The accident took place around 6 am on the Kolhar-Ghoti state highway in the Sangamner area. The truck, travelling from Loni to Sangamner area, rammed into the Mumbai-to-Shirdi-bound bus. Two bus passengers and the truck’s co-driver died on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Firoze Lala Shaikh (46), the truck’s co-driver from Sangamner; two bus passengers, Anju Ravindra Walmik (39) from Haryana; and Pravin Sopan Kandalkar (28) from Sangamner. Eight bus passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to a government hospital. Sangamner Taluka police have registered an accidental death case and are investigating the cause of the crash.
