
Sasaram | Sasaram, a key legislative assembly constituency in Bihar’s Rohtas district, holds considerable political significance and falls under the Sasaram Lok Sabha constituency. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Rajesh Kumar Gupta won the seat, defeating Janata Dal (United)’s Ashok Kumar by 26,423 votes. As the 2025 polls approach, the contest in Sasaram is expected to intensify, with Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief Upendra Kushwaha’s wife, Snehlata Kushwaha, and RJD’s Satyendra Sah emerging as key contenders. Gopalganj | Gopalganj, a key constituency in Bihar’s Gopalganj district and part of the Gopalganj Lok Sabha seat, holds strong political significance. In the 2022 bypolls—the first after the JD(U)-BJP split—the BJP retained the seat as Kusum Devi, widow of former minister and four-time MLA Subhash Singh, defeated RJD’s Mohan Prasad Gupta by 1,794 votes. Ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, major candidates include Anash Salam (AIMIM), Om Prakash Garg (INC), Dr Brij Kishore Gupta (AAP), Subash Singh (BJP), and Dr Shashi Shekhar Sinha. Ramnagar | Ramnagar, a key legislative assembly constituency in Bihar’s Paschim Champaran district, holds political significance and is represented by the BJP. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, BJP’s Bhagirathi Devi won the seat, defeating the Indian National Congress’s (INC) Rajesh Ram by 15,796 votes. As the 2025 assembly elections approach, the main contenders include RJD’s Subodh Paswan and BJP’s Nand Kishore Ram. In the 2015 polls, Bhagirathi Devi had also emerged victorious, defeating INC’s Purnmasi Ram by a margin of 17,988 votes.
Raghopur | Raghopur, a key legislative assembly constituency in Bihar’s Vaishali district, falls under the Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency and is a stronghold of the RJD. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav of the RJD retained the seat, defeating the BJP’s Satish Kumar by a margin of 38,174 votes. The two leaders are set for a rematch in the 2025 assembly elections, with Yadav once again representing the RJD and Kumar contesting from the BJP. Notably, Tejashwi Yadav had also defeated Satish Kumar in the 2015 elections by 22,733 votes, consolidating his hold over the constituency.
Alinagar | Alinagar, a key legislative assembly constituency in Bihar’s Darbhanga district, falls under the Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency and has witnessed closely fought contests in recent years. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Mishri Lal Yadav of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) won the seat, defeating RJD’s Vinod Mishra by a narrow margin of 3,101 votes. As the 2025 assembly elections near, the constituency is expected to see an interesting battle between RJD’s Vinod Mishra and BJP’s Maithili Thakur, a 25-year-old renowned folk singer.
