
CBSE curriculum 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to release the curriculum for Classes IX and X for the academic session 2026–27, marking a key step in the rollout of revised academic guidelines at the secondary level.This follows the release of the curriculum for Classes XI and XII on April 1, 2026, as part of the board’s phased introduction of updated curriculum documents for affiliated schools.Curriculum rollout and webinar detailsAs per the official circular issued by the CBSE, the curriculum for Class IX and X has been planned to be released on April 2, 2026. The move assumes significance as the CBSE has planned to implement the scheme of studies recommended in the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-2023) in Class 9th from this academic year.To facilitate understanding of the changes, CBSE will organise a special webinar focusing on the revised scheme of studies and key updates outlined in the initial pages of the Secondary Curriculum Part-I 2026–27 document for 9th and 10th classes.• Dharmendra Pradhan launches CBSE CT & AI curriculum for Classes 3 to 8 studentsThe webinar is scheduled to be held at the CBSE Headquarters auditorium in the Integrated Office Complex, Sector-23, Dwarka, at 3:00 PM. It will also be streamed live through an official online link to enable participation from schools across regions.Access to curriculum documentsThe board has stated that the complete curriculum documents for Classes 9th to 12th will be available on the CBSE Academic Portal under the ‘Curriculum 2026-27’ section. Schools have been directed to download the documents, including introductory sections, and disseminate them among teachers and students of class 9 and 10 for immediate reference.Institutions have also been advised to make necessary arrangements to implement these changes as per guidelines provided in curriculum documents.Emphasis on updated learning approachCBSE has indicated that the revised curriculum aligns with the vision and principles of NCF-2023. This curriculum focuses on competency-based education, experiential learning, flexibility in subject choices, and holistic development of learners.It is important for schools to ensure strict adherence to the prescribed curriculum for Class 9th and 10th as well as guidelines provided in initial sections and individual subjects.Instructions for schools and stakeholdersHeads of institutions have been advised to sensitise teachers and organise special Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to inform parents and students of 9th and 10th about the key features of the revised curriculum.Dr. Praggya M.
