The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed board examinations scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, for Class 10 and Class 12 students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools across several Middle Eastern countries, citing the prevailing security situation in the region.
In an official notice issued on Sunday, the Board said the decision applies to schools located in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The Board’s clarification comes after a fabricated circular claiming cancellation of board exams in the Middle East went viral on social media. The fake notice had cited “extraordinary global circumstances and warlike conditions,” triggering anxiety among students and parents.
CBSE had earlier issued a separate advisory warning students and schools against the misinformation and confirmed that any official updates would be communicated only through authorised channels.
The latest circular has been marked to Indian ambassadors in the affected countries, the Consul General of India in Dubai, and CBSE’s regional office in the UAE. The Board has not yet specified a timeline for rescheduling the postponed examinations.
