COMED-K 2025: The Consortium of Medical, Dental and Engineering Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) announced the results of its Undergraduate Entrance Test 2025 a day ahead of the previously scheduled date. The results, which were initially due on June 7, 2025, were officially released on June 6, 2025, according to Dr S Kumar, executive secretary of COMED-K.COMED-K has also confirmed that the counselling process will commence shortly and will not wait for the Karnataka Examinations Authority’s Common Entrance Test (CET) counselling. The decision has been taken to ensure a smoother and more streamlined admission process for thousands of engineering aspirants across the state.Top scorers shine in early resultsThis year’s UG entrance test witnessed several high-performing students from both Karnataka and other states. Among the top rankers were students who had demonstrated consistent academic excellence. Their achievements come at a time when COMED-K has promised a more efficient and transparent counselling procedure.During his address at The Times of India’s Mission Admission Education Expo, Dr S Kumar stated, “The counselling process has been made simpler this year. You have your scores, here is your rank, make your choice.” He emphasised that COMED-K’s system removes the uncertainty associated with the CET timeline.CET delays leave colleges at a disadvantageDr Kumar pointed out that CET counselling often faces delays due to the dependency on All India medical counselling and the implementation of reservation rules. “KEA cannot start counselling for engineering without completing the first round of medical counselling. And for that, they must wait for the All India schedule,” he said.He further added that these delays lead to vacant seats in Karnataka’s colleges. “Karnataka colleges lose precious seats waiting for their irregular timelines. So please don’t fall for their sloganeering,” Dr Kumar said.COMED-K to conduct four rounds of counsellingTo ensure that all eligible candidates have ample opportunity, COMED-K has announced four rounds of counselling this year. Addressing concerns about students who may later secure seats through KEA, Dr Kumar clarified that “for the last five years, any student producing the allotment letter of KEA has got a hundred percent fee refund.”
