Congress’s media and publicity cell chairman Pawan Khera raised the slogan ‘Sarkar Badlo, Bihar Badlo’ (change government, change Bihar). “The fiscal state of Bihar and the deteriorating health condition of the CM are matters of serious concern. We wish him well but the current state of Bihar raises serious questions. How safe is Bihar under the leadership of an unwell CM? His health was fine when he was with the Grand Alliance. After joining hands with the BJP last year, his condition deteriorated,” Khera claimed.
Khera alleged that development and governance had “come to a standstill in Bihar and the state is going through turmoil”.
… pic.twitter.com/imrTKEpaIu

“People are now looking towards Congress with hope. Bihar is the birthplace of ‘Satyagraha’ and revolutions. But today the people of Bihar have been forced to migrate. There is no dearth of talent among the youth here, but their talent is not being used,” he alleged.
Kumar came under attack from the Opposition for allegedly “disrespecting” the national anthem at an event in Patna last week.
When the announcement for the national anthem was made after the inauguration of the Sepak Takraw World Cup 2025 in the capital on March 21, Kumar had abruptly left the stage and began exchanging pleasantries with the participants. Later, when the national anthem was played, he stood smiling and waving at bystanders.
Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav said, “It’s a serious matter as it is an insult to the national anthem by the CM. This is also an insult to the countrymen by the CM. This shows that CM is not fit to run the state. The CM should resign from the post. We demand an unconditional apology from him. Surprisingly, the CM is not saying even a single word on the issue. Why are NDA leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, maintaining a stoic silence over it?”
In Hajipur, Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor told reporters, “There should be a thorough examination of Nitish Kumar’s state of mind and the report must be made public. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah seem to be well aware of his condition, but for the sake of JD(U)’s support, which allows BJP to enjoy power at the Centre despite not having a majority, they are doing injustice to Bihar.”
He alleged, “Late BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi had said, way back in November 2023, that Nitish Kumar suffered from some type of serious mental illness… these things cannot be kept under wraps. I foresee more such embarrassing incidents if the chief minister continues to attend public functions.”
