Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday, September 18, said that India’s youth will save the Constitution and protect the democracy.
“The nation’s youth, students, and GenZ will save the Constitution, protect democracy, and stop vote theft. I always stand with them. Jai Hind,” Gandhi had written in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Earlier in the day, he had also presented new vote theft records alleging that EC is actively trying to destroy the democracy.

Reacting to Gandhi’s claims, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, said that it is not about “vote chori” instead this is happening because of “dimag chori (brain theft)” of Rahul Gandhi, further comparing him to a “Maoist”.
“Gandhi has asked Gen Z to come together to overthrow a democratically elected government. It is not ‘vote chori’, but Rahul Gandhi’s brain has been stolen. He has no trust in the Constitution and rejects institutions. He spoke like an ‘urban Maoist’ by saying that Gen Z should come together to overthrow a democratically elected government,” Fadnavis told reporters.

BJP leader and UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said, “Whenever he (Rahul Gandhi) wins an election, he praises the Election Commission. In Bihar, he is seeing a potential defeat and is making baseless allegations that have no meaning. The people of the state and the country understand this well, and if he has any facts, he should present them before the Election Commission.”
However, supporting Gandhi’s claims, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said, “Everyone should stay alert. Four lakh names have been made public in Bihar through Form 6 with the Election Commission. 27% of first-time voters are under 20 years old. A 100-year-old is becoming a voter for the first time. BJP’s involvement in this has been exposed.”
“Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi posed all the questions to the Election Commission. So, what’s the BJP so upset about? Gyanesh Kumar’s nerves are being strained, and the BJP is feeling the pain. What’s the BJP’s connection to this issue? If they are not involved in this, then they should also join us in saying that if something wrong is happening, it needs to be investigated,” she added, as per ANI.
Similar thoughts were echoed by NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule, who asked why are political parties concerned over Gandhi’s claims against EC.
“In a strong democracy, everyone has the right to speak. Rahul Gandhi presented a thorough presentation of the data. These allegations are not aimed at the BJP or anyone else, but at the Election Commission. Why are political parties concerned? They are not being accused at all. The Election Commission is an independent body; it will respond to these allegations,” Sule told reporters.

Voices against Rahul Gandhi
NCP MP Praful Patel told ANI, “Is he trying to spread anarchy in this country? Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar gave us the right to vote, through which many governments have come and gone in the last 75 years. Anyone who talks like this is, in a way, talking against the country, and such a person has no right to remain in his position.”
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said, “I don’t know what he is trying to say. We are the largest democracy in the world. Is it our fault that people don’t vote for him? He is making nonsense statements and comparing us with Nepal and Sri Lanka… He thinks that if he cannot come to power democratically, then he will use alternative routes… Roots of democracy in India are from time immemorial… People do not like his call for anarchy…”

BJP MP Kangana Ranaut compared Gandhi to the ‘dynasts toppled in Nepal’ by stating, “Rahul Gandhi has always given statements that shame the country.
