In a regulatory filing, the company said its board has approved awarding the turnkey contract to Ardee Engineering Limited for setting up the plant at the Malanjkhand Copper Project in Madhya Pradesh.
The project, pegged at ₹469.55 Cr (excluding GST), is expected to be completed over a period of 27 months.
The move comes as Hindustan Copper doubles down on capacity expansion at its flagship Malanjkhand mine, one of the country’s largest copper reserves, amid rising demand for the metal across sectors such as electric vehicles, renewable energy, and infrastructure.
The contract will be executed on a turnkey basis, indicating that Ardee Engineering will handle end-to-end execution, from design to commissioning.
The approval was cleared at the company’s 461st board meeting held on March 30, 2026. The disclosure was made in compliance with Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
With this, Hindustan Copper continues its push to scale up operations and reduce India’s reliance on copper imports, even as global supply chains remain volatile.
