
Value of New Business (VNB) for the quarter stood at ₹795 crore, slightly below the poll estimate of ₹823 crore, while VNB Margin improved to 22.7%, higher than the anticipated 21.8%.
The APE (Retail and Direct) grew 3.1% YoY compared to ₹3,615 crore in Q4 FY24, while the VNB showed a 2.5% YoY rise from ₹776 crore last year.
The VNB Margin for the quarter also improved from 21.5% to 22.7%.
The life insurer reported a 122% year-on-year jump in net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2025 to ₹385 crore, compared with ₹174 crore in the same period last year.
Net premium income for the quarter rose 11% YoY to ₹16,369 crore, up from ₹14,788 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
The Board has recommended a final dividend of ₹0.85 per share for FY25, subject to shareholder approval.
Financial Year 2025 Snapshot
For FY25, the life insurer reported a strong 39.6% increase in Profit After Tax (PAT), reaching ₹1,189 crore. This growth was primarily driven by a strong retail protection segment.
The APE crossed ₹10,000 crore for the first time, with a 15% YoY increase to ₹10,407 crore. This performance was underpinned by a 25.1% growth in the retail protection segment, where APE reached ₹598 crore.
“We are pleased to announce that we have crossed ₹10,000 crore APE for the first time, marking a significant milestone in our growth journey. Notably, we have also provided insurance coverage to over 9 crore lives as of March 31, 2025,” Anup Bagchi, MD & CEO of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance said.
Retail Weighted Received Premium (RWRP) growth of 15.2% in FY25 demonstrates the company’s ability to deliver superior performance in a competitive landscape, he added.
The Value of New Business (VNB) for FY25 rose by 6.4% YoY to ₹2,370 crore, with a margin of 22.8%. The company’s Embedded Value (EV) grew by 13.3% to ₹47,951 crore, and its Return on Embedded Value (RoEV) stood at 13.1%.
The solvency ratio remained robust at 212.2%, well above the regulatory minimum of 150%.
