
AI Career Initiative for Women Launched
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has also rolled out the “AI Career for Women” initiative in April 2025. Over the next two years, the programme aims to train and enable economic opportunities for 8,000 girls in AI-related domains.Under the government’s flagship PMKVY 4.0 (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) scheme, thousands of women have already received training in a wide range of AI roles
.Women Leading in AI Training and Certification
As of June 30, 2025, official data reveals a promising trend in women’s participation across AI job roles:Over 19,000 women trained or oriented in AI roles compared to 17,186 men.
In roles like Data Quality Analyst, Machine Learning Engineer, and Database Administrator, the number of certified women professionals outpaces their male counterparts.Job roles include AI Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Analysts, DevOps Engineers, and even AI-based Pharmacovigilance Case Processors.
