
In a major update, the IAF has officially extended the online registration deadline for Agniveervayu Intake 01/2027 to February 8, 2026.
This provides aspiring candidates additional time to complete their applications.

Eligible unmarried male and female candidates can apply through the IAF Recruitment Portal at https://iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in.
Deadline Extended
According to an official notification, applications and fee payments to join the IAF as an Agniveervayu must be completed by February 8 (23:55 hrs). The registration window was initially scheduled to close on February 1.
Age Limit
The recruitment is open to individuals born between January 1, 2006 and July 1, 2009, with a maximum age of 21 years at the time of registration.
Marital Status and Pregnancy
Only unmarried individuals are eligible, and they must remain unmarried during the four-year engagement term. Female candidates must also agree not to become pregnant throughout their four-year engagement period.
“Such female Agniveervayu on becoming Low Medical Category (LMC) due to pregnancy shall be liable to be discharged from service. Pregnancy will debar the female Agniveervayu for selection into Regular Cadre. At the time of enrolment, candidates shall require to sign a voluntary undertaking accepting above conditions,” the notice read.
Educational Qualification
To qualify for the IAF Agniveervayu intake, candidates must meet specific academic benchmarks. Those applying for Science Subjects must have completed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and English, a three-year Engineering Diploma, or a two-year Vocational Course (with Physics and Math), maintaining at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English. For Other than Science Subjects, a 10+2 or two-year Vocational Course in any stream is required, provided the same 50% criteria are met.
Selection Process
The selection procedure will be divided into three steps, beginning with an online objective test, followed by Physical Fitness Tests, Adaptability Tests, and a medical examination.
Salary
Agniveervayu recruits under the Agnipath scheme receive a monthly package starting at ₹30,000, increasing to ₹40,000 by the fourth year, along with allowances for risk, hardship, dress, and travel. A Seva Nidhi Package is also provided, consisting of their monthly contribution along with a matching contribution, totalling approximately ₹10.04 lakhs after four years.
