
In its statement, Infosys emphasised its commitment to maintaining high employee standards and highlighted its globally recognised training programme. “Every trainee joins with the clear understanding that performance evaluations are an integral part of their development and progress,” the company said.

Addressing concerns about the terminations, Infosys reiterated that all trainees sign an Apprenticeship Registration Form, acknowledging their apprenticeship terms, with training costs entirely covered by the company. The IT firm clarified that its evaluation process, which includes negative marking across three assessment attempts, is clearly outlined in the evaluation policy document and communicated during induction.
Infosys also pointed out that over 98% of eligible trainees received relieving letters upon separation, along with outplacement support, severance pay, and counselling services.
Meanwhile, Moneycontrol reported that the Union Labour Ministry has directed the Karnataka Labour Commissioner to submit a detailed report on the actions taken regarding the matter.
