
JEE Main 2026 Session 2 answer key: NTA is all set to roll out the answer key of JEE Main session 2 for the year 2026 in the coming days. This move comes in the wake of conducting a successful computer-based test on 02 to 08 April 2026.A total of over 11 lakh students appeared in both Paper 1 and Paper 2. As soon as NTA released the question papers on 09 April 2026, candidates are expecting the issuance of provisional answer key on 11 April 2026.Details of examination and participationPaper 1 – B.E. /B.Tech: Around 11.06 lakh candidates registered for the exam. In addition, around 4,229 international candidates had also applied. There was around 93 per cent attendance and nearly 97 per cent Aadhaar authentication among candidates.Paper 2 – B.Arch. /B.Planning: There were nearly 54,953 registrations from domestic candidates, while 270 international candidates took part in the exam. The total attendance percentage stood at 73 per cent and Aadhaar authentication at 97 per cent.Procedure of application and admit card dateApplications were accepted between 01 February to 25 February 2026, with an additional phase of applications on 12 and 13 March 2026 as per candidate requests. Admit cards were issued in two batches dated 29 March 2026 and 01 April 2026.Management of the examination and emergency handlingNTA efficiently managed the examination process through meticulous planning, effective utilization of technology, and cooperation with governmental bodies at the national and state level.For international candidates facing issues in some countries of the Middle East due to disruptions, assistance was provided to facilitate examination rescheduling and location change, thanks to the Indian missions overseas.As there was a power interruption on 05 April 2026, Riyadh Centre examinations were rescheduled and held on 06 and 08 April 2026, while examinations were conducted in Manipur regardless of the internet restrictions, and timings were coordinated with CBSE to not clash with Class XII examinations.Examination and results scheduleThe question papers for all shifts were made publicly available on 09 April 2026.Provisional answers key for paper 1, along with recorded answers are expected to be released on 11 April 2026. The challenge window will be open for a period at a fee of INR 200 per question. The release of the results is expected on 20 April 2026, based on the best performance in either session.All announcements can be accessed from the NTA website, and candidates are urged to take note of any subsequent notifications.Stakeholder engagement and transparency measuresThe NTA thanked state governments, district administrations, law enforcement organizations, examination functionaries, technology partners, and parents for the cooperation extended in conducting the examination.
