Congress General Secretary in charge of Karnataka, Randeep Singh Surjewala will hold separate meetings with party legislators on Monday, amid signs of unrest within the ruling party.
State Home Minister G Parameshwara said, “He is our incharge of the AICC. He keeps visiting Karnataka to look into various aspects, not necessarily governmental issues. He visits to strengthen the party and for party programs, or if there are any disturbances within the party or in the government. As an incharge, he will guide us…”
Sources told News18 that there will be no change in the state leadership as of now.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also stated that the party high command will decide on the change in the state leadership. “It is in the hands of the party high command. No one can say what is going on in the high command. It is left to the high command and they have the right to take further action, but no one should create problems unnecessarily,” Kharge said.
Several MLAs have recently voiced dissatisfaction over the government’s functioning. Aland MLA BR Patil recently alleged bribery in the allotment of public housing under the Housing Department.
Kagwad MLA Raju Kage hinted at resigning, citing delays in developmental works and fund releases, while claiming the administration had “completely collapsed”.
Reports said the party leadership has asked Siddaramaiah to resolve the issues, take MLAs into confidence, and ensure no one makes public statements against the government.
