Karnataka’s Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot accepted Rajanna’s resignation, news agency PTI reported.
Karnataka Chief Minister Office (CMO) confirmed that Rajanna submitted his resignation, as per News18.
However, the minister was reportedly sacked and asked to resign after he questioned Congress government’s role in the voter list irregularities.
Rajanna allegedly blamed his own party in Karnataka over “vote theft” in the Mahadevapura Assembly segment, as per PTI.
Rajanna had said that the irregularities took place “right in front of our eyes”. “It is a shame for us that we did not monitor it,” he told reporters, as per News18.
His remarks contradicted the Congress party’s official stance due to which the close aide of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was sacked.
Congress member and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi recently held a press conference in Delhi where he provided proof and evidence of vote theft by the Election Commission for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during various state assembly elections and 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
