
Justice Sunder Mohan ordered the interim anticipatory bail till April 7 with conditions, reported PTI.
Kamra approached the Madras High Court seeking a transit anticipatory bail for FIRs filed against him for his alleged derogatory remarks against Shinde on on Friday morning, March 28.
The matter was been mentioned before Justice Sunder Mohan, who has allowed a lunch motion for the comedian’s request, reported LiveLaw.
Kamra’s lawyer informed that since the comedian is a permanent resident of Villupuram in Tamil Nadu, he can filed a transit petition in the state.
The counsel said Kamra has been receiving death threats after the show in Mumbai on Sunday, March 23.

A lunch motion is a motion that requires urgency in the matter, which allows the petition to be heard outside the normal working hours of the court, even during the lunch break.
Breach of privilege notice against Kamra allowed
As the matter has shaken up the politics in Maharashtra, on Thursday, the state’s Legislative Council allowed the breach of privilege notice against the comedian.
Ram Shinde, Council’s chairperson accepted the notice against Kamra over his “gaddar” (traitor) comments against Dy CM Shinde and moved the notice to the Privileges Committee. reported PTI.
The same day, Maharashtra Tourism Minister and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Shamuburaj Desai has called for Kamra’s immediate arrest, cautioning the police against testing party workers’ patience.
“We have been asked by Shinde to observe restraint, that is why we are quiet. As Shiv Sena workers, we know how to drag him out from wherever he is hiding, but as ministers, we have some restrictions,” Desai told reported, quoted PTI.
Kamra calls mainstream media “vultures”
Kunal Kamra criticised the mainstream media, alleging it functions as a “miscommunication arm” of the ruling party.
“The mainstream media at this point is nothing but a miscommunication arm of the ruling party,” Kamra wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.
“They are vultures who report on issues that dont matter to the people of this country. If they all shut shop from tomorrow till eternity they will be doing favour to the country, its people & their own children,” he added.
