In the first phase, facial recognition-based access was introduced, while the second phase now mandates visitor registration through the DigiPravesh app.
Visitors must pre-register, gain approval, and adhere to allotted entry timings. Unauthorised movement across floors will result in strict action.
To facilitate ease of access, special arrangements have been made for senior citizens and differently abled visitors, allowing them entry at 12 pm, with a dedicated queue for assistance. General visitors will be granted access after 2 pm upon generating an entry pass via the app.
Visitors need to provide an Aadhaar card, driving licence, PAN card, or any government-approved ID for registration.
A helpdesk at the Garden Gate will assist those without smartphones or digital literacy. Upon successful registration, a QR code will be issued, which must be scanned at the Mantralaya entry window to obtain an RFID access card. This RFID card, which must be worn at all times, is mandatory for security verification and must be returned before exit.
The DigiPravesh app, available for Android and iOS, simplifies the process, allowing visitors to book a slot through Aadhaar-linked facial recognition, eliminating long queues. The one-time registration ensures a hassle-free experience, completing the process in under three minutes.
Additionally, regional office employees requiring access to Mantralaya must also register through DigiPravesh. The Maharashtra government expects this initiative to reduce crowding, prevent unauthorised entry, and strengthen security at one of the state’s most critical administrative centres.
