
Mazagon Dock will purchase the shares through a combination of primary subscription and secondary acquisition from Onomichi Dockyard, the majority shareholder of CDPLC, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Following the acquisition of a 51% equity stake, CDPLC will become a subsidiary of Mazagon Dock.
Colombo Dockyard is engaged in shipbuilding and ship repair and is listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
CDPLC reported a consolidated turnover of LKR 25,447 million and a net worth of LKR 5,311 million for the year ended December 31, 2024.
As of the March quarter shareholding pattern, the government had an 84.83% stake in Mazagon Dock, which is still above the minimum public shareholding requirement of 75%.
Shares of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders settled 1.54% higher at ₹3,169.50. The stock has jumped over 40% so far in 2025.
