
In an exchange filing published on April 28, the company said that it intends to invest approximately Rs. 500 crores, including the cost of land, in developing that state-of-the-art hospital
This land parcel is being procured from Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Ltd. for ₹30 crore, including expenses for registration and possession of the land.
The site of the proposed hospital is located on National Highway 27. According to the company, this facility will serve over 5 crore people across Assam and its neighbouring states.
Speaking on the development, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director of Medanta, said, “Today, with the Board’s approval to acquire land in Guwahati and our plans to build a 400-bed super-speciality hospital, we are taking a decisive step toward fulfilling that vision. This marks the beginning of a transformative journey to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and deliver advanced medical care closer to millions across Assam and its neighbouring states.”
Shares of Global Health or Medanta, ended 1% lower on Monday, off the highs of the day at ₹1,202. The stock has remained flat over the last month.
