The exam, originally scheduled to take place on June 15, will now be conducted between 9 am and 12.30 pm on August 3, as per the details provided by the National Board of Examination’s (NBE) technology partner Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS).
The examination was postponed after an action challenged the NBE’s earlier decision to conduct NEET PG in two shifts. The petition argued that administering the exam in multiple sessions could result in disparities due to variations in question paper and its difficulty levels, which could affect the fairness of score normalisation.
Concerns about the existing format were voiced by several aspirants who feared the two-shift system undermined the uniformity of assessment. Candidates had also expressed dissatisfaction with the normalisation process, calling for a return to the single-session model used previously.
Exam format remains unchangedÂ
Despite the changes in the schedule, the exam format will remain the same. NEET PG 2025 will be conducted in English in a computer-based test (CBT) mode. The paper will include 200 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 800 marks. Candidates will have 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete the test.
