As the world prepares to mark International Women’s Day on March 8, the She Shakti Suraksha Survey 2025 seeks to quantify women’s safety perceptions and identify areas for intervention. Despite existing legal frameworks and advancements in technology, concerns about safety continue to shape the way women navigate public and private spaces. These concerns impact education, mobility, economic participation, and overall citizenship rights, often leading to behavioural modifications and limited public life engagement.
The survey covered 20 cities in its inaugural year, using Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) to collect responses from a random sample of 400 respondents per city. Data collection was conducted in 10 different Indian languages, ensuring inclusivity and broad representation.
The survey’s demographic breakdown includes age, education level, marital status, and household income, providing a nuanced understanding of safety perceptions.
By quantifying perceptions of safety, the She Shakti Suraksha Survey 2025 provides valuable data to drive change. As efforts continue to create a safer and more inclusive India, the survey serves as a roadmap for addressing women’s safety concerns and ensuring their full participation in public life.
