
The Cabinet approved the expansion of Bihar Women’s University in Patna, with new science and IT buildings at a budget of ₹4,723 crores.
In primary education reforms, the Cabinet approved the Chief Minister’s Girls/Boys Scholarship Scheme for the 2025-26 academic session with enhanced funding. It will provide increased financial support for underprivileged students.
The Cabinet also sanctioned the establishment of Research Centers in multiple districts, including Darbhanga. New buildings for various educational institutions and modernisation of library facilities were also approved.
These announcements came just months ahead of the state elections which is a direct fight between the ruling NDA and the Opposition Mahagahtbandhan.
The Cabinet also approved projects worth more than ₹17,000 crore for the construction and maintenance of rural roads in the state. “These projects include construction and maintenance of 11,251 roads, the total length of which would be 19,876 km. An expenditure of Rs 17,266 crore was approved for the purpose,” an official said.
