
Total iron ore production for March stood at 5.35 million tonnes (mt), marking a 51% increase compared with 3.55 mt in the same month last year. The growth reflects higher output from the company’s mining operations across its key producing regions.
Iron ore sales during the month also rose significantly. NMDC reported total sales of 5.90 mt, up 40% from 4.21 mt recorded in March of the previous year.
The production growth was driven by higher output from the company’s operations in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka, which together accounted for the entire iron ore output reported for the month. In Chhattisgarh, production for March stood at 4.01 mt, compared with 2.49 mt a year earlier, while sales reached 4.25 mt, up from 2.72 mt in the same period last year.Also read: NMDC Q3 Results: Higher expenses weigh on operating performance; New unit for critical minerals biz
In Karnataka, production during March was reported at 1.34 mt, compared with 1.06 mt in March last year. Sales from the region stood at 1.65 mt, up from 1.49 mt during the corresponding month of the previous year.
On a cumulative basis for the financial year up to March 2026, NMDC reported total iron ore production of 53.15 mt, compared with 44.07 mt in the previous year. Total sales for the period reached 50.23 mt, up from 44.40 mt recorded in the same period last year.
The company disclosed the provisional production and sales figures as part of its regulatory filing under SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements regulations.
