The Telangana High Court has granted interim anticipatory bail to Congress leader Pawan Khera for one week in connection with a case linked to allegations involving Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma.
A bench of Justice K Sujana granted the relief, allowing Khera time to move the appropriate court for further legal protection, as per LiveLaw.
The case stems from a First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Assam Police following claims made by Khera regarding Riniki Bhuyan Sarma allegedly holding multiple passports.
“The petitioner is granted time for one week to file an application before the concerned court… relief to petitioner for one week with conditions,” the judge said while pronouncing the order, as per LiveLaw.
The detailed order from the court is still awaited.
Khera had filed the anticipatory bail petition in Hyderabad, where he has a residence.
