
“The founding of the RSS a century ago reflects the enduring spirit of national consciousness that has risen to meet the challenges of every era,” PM Modi said.
“The foundation of a century of RSS work rests on the goal of nation-building, a clear path of personal development and the vibrant practice of the Shakha (branch),” he added.
The Prime Minister stated that the RSS has made many sacrifices, and remain guided by one principle – ‘Nation First’ and one goal – ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ (One India, Great India), adding that despite this, attempts were made to prevent it from joining national mainstream post-Independence.

PM Modi unveils commemorative coin, stamp on RSS’ 100 years
PM Narendra Modi also unveiled specially designed commemorative postage stamp and coin highlighting the group’s contributions to India.

The postage stamp shows RSS members marching on Raj Path, (now called Kartavaya Path, during the Republic Day Parade in 1963.

The commemorative coin issued by the PM features RSS cadre in their traditional pose before ‘Bharat Mata’. The commemorative coin is made of pure silver and is of ₹100 denomination.
The the front face of the coin bears the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar, and the back side shows the image of Bharat Mata along with Swayamsevaks paying tribute to the goddess.

The RSS was established as a volunteer-based organisation by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, in 1925 in Maharashtra’s Nagpur. Its goal was to foster cultural awareness, discipline, service, and social responsibility among citizens.
