
Among the notable inaugurations is the Kanpur Metro’s new subterranean route from Chunniganj to Kanpur Central, worth over ₹2,120 crore. This includes 14 planned stations with five new underground stations and will connect key city destinations such as Z Square Mall, Green Park Stadium, and Somdutt Plaza.
In addition, the Prime Minister inaugurated the road widening and strengthening work of GT Road. Several projects would undertaken to increase the region’s power generation capacity. Modi laid the groundwork for a 220 kV substation in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Gautam Buddh Nagar, to meet the region’s increasing energy demands.
The Prime Minister inaugurated 132 kV substations worth more than ₹320 crore at Ecotech-8 and Ecotech-10 in Greater Noida. He inaugurated a 660 MW Panki Thermal Power Extension Project in Kanpur, worth over ₹8,300 crore, which will increase energy capacity across the state.

The Prime Minister inaugurated three 660 MW units of the Ghatampur Thermal Electricity Project, valued at more than ₹9,330 crore, which will significantly increase power supplies.
He inaugurated Rail over bridges over Panki Power House Railway Crossing and Panki Dham Crossing on Panki Road at Kalyanpur Panki Mandir in Kanpur. It will help with the logistics of the Panki Thermal Power Extension Project by making coal and oil transportation easier while also reducing traffic congestion for the locals.
PM Modi launched a 40 MLD (Million Liters per day) tertiary treatment plant in Bingawan, Kanpur, worth more than ₹290 crore, which will allow for the reuse of treated sewage water.
To boost road infrastructure in the region, he laid the foundation stone for the widening and strengthening of Gauria Pali Marg for industrial development in Kanpur Nagar District and the widening and strengthening of the road to connect Narwal Mode (AH-1) on Prayagraj Highway to Kanpur Defence Node (4 lanes) under Defence Corridor in Kanpur Nagar District, which will significantly improve connectivity for the Defence Corridor while also enhancing logistics and accessibility.

The PM presented certificates and cheques to recipients of the PM Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojna, National Livelihood Mission, and PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected arrangements in Kanpur ahead of Modi’s scheduled visit.
